Special interest group visit in TIFARACÁS

ON the 13th of March 2019, the directory team of ICIA (Canary Institute for Agrarian Researches) visited the execution areas of LIFE The Green Link project. They were particularly interested in the project due to its possible application in the different working lines developing in the Autonomous Community of Canary’s islands, who’s moving towards strengthening the agro-forestry ecosystems recovery to improve agriculture and ranching in the islands.

As the ICIA president Juan Francisco Padrón said himself “it’s an interesting initiative that has the potential to influence positively the agro-forestry development of the islands, proved by the successful results obtained in Tifaracás. Without any doubt, we have to be thankful to the Cabildo de Gran Canaria for this innovative initiative that highlights the importance of technological development and research to solve the serious environmental challenges we’re facing due to climate change.

Also the director of the Jardín de Aclimatación de la Orotava and the coordinator of Programas de Salud del Suelo y Agroecología and the responsible for Área de Pastos y Forrajes participated to the visit.
