On 29th June 2017 Dr. Panagiotis Grammelis, Mr. Dimitrios Kourkoumpas and Mr. Akis Papadelis from CERTH/CPERI and Pieter van Soest from VOLTERRA visited the demonstration site in Ptolemais.
During their visit they monitored the development of winter and spring plantations and additionally they examined the opportunities for cover crop establishment.
Specifically they made field measures of soil structure in order to select the appropriate cover crops for soil erosion control and limitation of surface runoff into the test plots.
Finally, they decided to share their ideas with Public Power Corporation, in order to proceed to the implementation of the cover crops sowing and the relavant harvesting operations.
